The public comment period on the Expert Panel’s report was held from April 5 to May 5, 2017.

The feedback gathered from Canadians, including the public, Indigenous groups, and stakeholders, will be submitted to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change and will help inform potential legislative, regulatory and policy changes.

The Government of Canada is committed to pursuing proposals for change that will renew Canada’s environmental assessment processes in a manner that is fair and robust, respects the rights of Indigenous peoples, is based on scientific evidence, and protects our environment for generations to come.
